I'm still chipping away at this whenever I have time, it is almost finished I think, I might adjust the size of the 2 main characters and scale them up , but I will wait and see how it looks after a little more work. Dammit! I will finish this one!

Also here is the assignment that consumed most of my time preventing the completion of my witchdoctor.

This is one of the major problems I have, I can draw these quick little thumbnails in like, 30 seconds or so, and I think, that can be a cool pose for a picture! because sometimes I don't draw a picture with an idea before hand , I stumble across them from doodles. ANYWAY, the problem I have is when i try to draw these thumbnails properly, they lose all their life, and just plain don't work, especially the feet and legs seem to be the worst culprits. I'm enraged.

This is for tafe, its meant to be an abstract map of how I get to tafe everyday, I'm going to chop the back of the head off and hollow it out. Then put in some little models of things I haven't sculpted yet like my car, a train, keys, shoes. This is meant to be my head as well. :/

Dragon Dooodles.....

I sketched these on the flight back from Paris to Singapore. It was Hell on Wings.
I want to develop these further and make some final drawings for my folio. They are meant to be, well the bottoms ones at least, are meant to be water dragons. I was trying to make them like herrons or some kind of water bird, so they have short wings which are better for paddling underwater like penguins and other ocean going birds. Of course there are blaring errors on some of these especially on the neck areas but that is to be expected when your awake for 30+ hours.

Been in a massive slump all year, I keep going around and around in circles and I feel like I'm not getting anywhere. Here are the results starting from oldest to most recent, oldest being end of 2009 (which is the second picture down.) Most are from photos obviously, a couple of original drawings in there as well.

After the previous one, I got really frustrated with the banding, such as on the leg. So I started trying a softer brush to begin with and then sharpening up the areas that needed it. This next one seemed to work the best, but the ones after this (the blue one below) didn't work out as well I think, they look to airbrushy for my tastes.

Now all I need to do is learn to pose characters and paint from my head T________T

Stuff from a week or so ago I was saving to post with more stuff, but that might not be for a little while so I'll post now. Dragon I intended to colour, the other one was colour practice but the colour temperature is all wrong, so i stopped half way, will pay more attention to it next time.

My goal is to finish studying Hogarth by mid July, then its full on painting from then on out, which means I'll try to update daily.

Argh, I was filling in as a cleaner for 2 weeks, so I didn't get any drawing, painting or anything art related during that time, so it once again feels like I've taken 3 steps backwards.

So this is what I've done lately. The first two were just more colour practice. The environment was colour practice too, but environments are my weakness, I don't know how to paint them at all really, so I need to do more of them. And the dragon sketch was something I did when i had a headache, I'm going to draw over it again in a different pose as I think its pretty weak at the moment.

This was for a weekly character activity at concept art, that I started and gave up on a while back. But for some reason I was inspired enough to redraw it, and even attempt to paint. But once again, I think I rushed a bit, in the drawing stage, possibly also because I sketched it late at night, so there are proportional issues, even though she still stands at 8 heads high, maybe the clothing is confusing it?

Anyway, first sketch was my idea from a few months ago, then the painted ones, and a random pepper grinding thing I'll just slip in at the end.

Maybe made the lightsabers too bright in the final? I still like my previous version, so ill show it as well, not as orange down the bottom. :/

Been playing dawn of war 2 alot lately, just a really fast attempt at a unit from the game. I think i only spent like an hour and bit on it , so its really rushed. I'm going to do another as a scene, but if I actually finish it, well thats another story.

I've also just been sketching randomly in my book, if I can find a scanner I might upload some.

A Dash of colour

Here is the picture of Milla with some colour. I was surprised how little time it took to complete, I usually take a lot longer than this. The way I render things is still annoying the hell out of me, I cant seem to make things look sharp, its all blobby or something. Maybe I need to use a smaller brush perhaps.

I was utterly disgusted with the lack of progress I made last year, so this year I'll be working doubly as hard. So to start off I did this sketch during lab day at work. I tried to keep it as loose as I could without refining too much. I borrowed the golden colour scheme from some art I like from guild wars. Anyway here is the final and the sketch, although I may go back and tweak the final some more after I haven't seen it for a little while.
