Study and crap

Bunch of stuff I'm not proud of or happy with, they are all studies and are in no way, shape or form original. Really need to get better at value and colour!!!

These are in no particular order from the last few months. There will also be nakedness in my blog from now on because I really don't care anymore. If I can take a decent photo I might upload some of the pencil drawings I have done.

Quick post

Stuff from a week or so ago I was saving to post with more stuff, but that might not be for a little while so I'll post now. Dragon I intended to colour, the other one was colour practice but the colour temperature is all wrong, so i stopped half way, will pay more attention to it next time.

My goal is to finish studying Hogarth by mid July, then its full on painting from then on out, which means I'll try to update daily.

Faces and dragons.

Argh, I was filling in as a cleaner for 2 weeks, so I didn't get any drawing, painting or anything art related during that time, so it once again feels like I've taken 3 steps backwards.

So this is what I've done lately. The first two were just more colour practice. The environment was colour practice too, but environments are my weakness, I don't know how to paint them at all really, so I need to do more of them. And the dragon sketch was something I did when i had a headache, I'm going to draw over it again in a different pose as I think its pretty weak at the moment.

Sith

This was for a weekly character activity at concept art, that I started and gave up on a while back. But for some reason I was inspired enough to redraw it, and even attempt to paint. But once again, I think I rushed a bit, in the drawing stage, possibly also because I sketched it late at night, so there are proportional issues, even though she still stands at 8 heads high, maybe the clothing is confusing it?

Anyway, first sketch was my idea from a few months ago, then the painted ones, and a random pepper grinding thing I'll just slip in at the end.

Maybe made the lightsabers too bright in the final? I still like my previous version, so ill show it as well, not as orange down the bottom. :/

Colour Blocking

Here are some attempts at focusing on colour and blocking them in without focusing on details too much. The greyscale is an old one I did a few months ago, but I thought I would upload anyway.

Colour and rendering woes

Fruit was sitting on my desk, and I was trying to see the colours, same with the girl on the left, except she wasn't sitting on my desk. But the point was to stop guessing with colours and to see what they actually are. I have a long way to go.
